About Westcountry Event Services
Dave Monkton
Dave is the driving force and inspiration behind Westcountry Event Services. He is a recently retired Police Sergeant from Devon and Cornwall Police where he has many years’ experience managing differing levels of demand from both other police officers and members of the public from all walks of life.
He is well versed in dealing with professional situations with all aspects of society, organisations and officers of all ranks.
Prior to and during his career with the Police, he has maintained an unfaltering interest in music and live presentation. He is an accomplished guitarist and vocalist, performing in many settings up and down the UK in a number of bands.
He has also been employed as a Session Musician, appearing on Television a number of times providing backings for professional singers.
Dave is also the instigator and CEO of Disco In Kernow, a mobile Disco and Karaoke business providing entertainment to thousands of people again up and down the UK.
The business now employees a number of other staff and is constantly expanding its experience and boundaries.
Dave is genuinely fascinated by live performances. He has an extremely healthy interest in all things sound and lighting and is constantly striving to increase his vast knowledge and understanding.
He has a very strong “Can Do” attitude and nothing is ever seen as “too hard to achieve”.
If you have something specific in mind, Dave will go above and beyond to try and make your vision a reality.
Dave also has a wealth of contacts within the industry. If the equipment or experience is not readily available from West Country Event Services, he will strive to obtain these from elsewhere specifically for your event.
Dave takes a high level of pride in all he does and this will ensure your event has very much, the personal touch whether your event is for a select few or a room of thousands.
Dave has a very strong “Can Do” attitude and nothing is ever seen as “too hard to achieve”.

Due to my time spent in the music industry I have many contacts, and if specific equipment is required I will be able to draw on this to source exactly what you want. Nothing is too much trouble!
